At M&M Cattle Company, we have been proudly dedicated to raising Registered Texas Longhorns since 1994. As passionate breeders, my wife and I have been continuously expanding our pastures and hay land to provide the best possible environment for this esteemed breed of cattle. Throughout the years, we have been fortunate to acquire exceptional young bulls and solid foundation cows through purchases and breeding efforts. Utilizing their progeny, we have not only improved our own program but have also actively supported fellow breeders in their longhorn journey by either collaborating on select bulls/cows or acting as mentors.
Our commitment to excellence drives us to constantly refine our breeding program, ensuring that we consistently offer superior cattle for sale. As part of this endeavor, we are actively working to have all our cattle DNA PV tested and studying the benefits of DNA for EPDs on our longhorn cattle. We firmly believe that this cutting-edge tool will assist our customers in achieving their goals more efficiently and effectively.
In parallel, we are establishing a robust infrastructure and emphasizing the significance of this process, especially for new breeders, to foster a rewarding and enjoyable longhorn journey. We have noticed that some individuals leave the registered longhorn industry within five years, and therefore, we strive to educate our customers about potential challenges and how to avoid them to ensure their business's long-term success. In our view, meticulous planning, having a solid infrastructure, studying pedigrees and working with the correct folks is essential to thrive in the registered cattle business.
